“Artscape” Becomes Official Representative of the International Network “Refugee Week” in Lithuania

The art agency “Artscape” has become a part of the international network “Refugee Week” and the official coordinator of “Refugee Week” in Lithuania from this year.

“We are proud to be a part of the international network “Refugee Week” and to coordinate events, initiatives and gatherings dedicated to the celebration of World Refugee Day in Lithuania on behalf of this network. This is a significant evaluation of our long-term work in the field of migration and integration of refugees, to provide regular, inclusive programs for the improvement and integration of the emotional well-being of individuals”, says Aistė Ulubey, the founder and CEO of the arts agency.

This spring, “Artscape” participated in the “Refugee Week 2024 Conference”, an international conference where initiatives around the world were presented and discussed. The conference was opened by Dr. Dima Mekdad and Enver Solomon, CEO of the Refugee Council.

“Refugee Week” is the world’s largest arts and culture festival that celebrates the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees and asylum seekers. Founded in 1998 in the United Kingdom by “Counterpoints Arts”, this annual festival coincides with World Refugee Day, celebrated worldwide on June 20. In 2024 “Refugee Week” events will take place from June 17 to 23.

For the second year in a row, “Artscape” will invite you to celebrate World Refugee Day at the Rhythm of Cultures festival on June 20. We invite you to follow the information for updates on www.artscape.lt. Additionally, regularly throughout the year, the agency, in collaboration with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), conducts various programs, initiatives, and projects in the field of migration aimed at the integration of refugees.

Organizations and artists are invited to join

“We invite cultural, artistic, and other organizations, as well as individual artists, to join us in creating Refugee Week events together, thereby enhancing the visibility and importance of this topic in Lithuania and fostering an open society. You can participate in our future activities or propose your own initiatives,” says the “Artscape” team, encouraging everyone to follow updates on the agency’s channels.

The art agency “Artscape” has been operating since 2012. The main goal of the organization is to provide the opportunity to participate in culture to vulnerable groups of society and to initiate social changes through high-quality art projects. The agency’s team carries out cultural and educational activities with vulnerable groups of society every day, and presents at least several high-value art productions to the market during the year. The agency became the winner of the awards for social cohesion established by The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) in 2022, selected from 64 nominees.
