Artscape is proud to announce the continuation of its long-term strategic partnership with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, through the newly approved project “Supporting Refugee Integration through the Lithuanian Grassroots Refugee-Inclusion Groups” (Project No. SWE01/2022/0000000061/002). The project is funded with 137,434.14 EURand runs from January 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023.
This collaboration reinforces Artscape’s role as a cultural and social bridge between refugee communities and Lithuanian society. Building on years of joint efforts, the project focuses on three key areas:
Creative Missions – arts-based psychosocial activities delivered in reception centers, accommodation sites across Lithuania, fostering resilience, creativity, and mutual understanding.
Refugee Day / Refugee Week – national-level awareness-raising events that highlight refugee voices and contributions, connecting grassroots communities with the wider public.
Advocacy Initiatives – strengthening the cultural sector’s voice in migration and inclusion debates, and promoting human rights through artistic practices.
Through these activities, Artscape continues to support integration at the grassroots level, ensuring that refugees are not only welcomed but also actively included in the cultural and civic life of Lithuania.
“Partnership with UNHCR enables us to create safe and empowering spaces where refugees and local communities can meet, share, and build together. It is about turning inclusion into a lived reality through culture and creativity,” says Artscape’s founder and CEO.
Artscape looks forward to carrying this mission forward with UNHCR and its partners, reinforcing Lithuania’s commitment to solidarity, creativity, and human rights.
