Meet the Mentees & Mentors of Artscape Mentorship Program 2024: Marija Frolova (Ukraine)
Marija Frolova is a Ukrainian artist and photographer who finds magic in capturing fleeting moments and everyday beauty through her camera lens. Her journey in photography began when her father gifted her a film camera, sparking her desire to reveal the “invisible and fleeting.” Marija’s work spans multiple genres, driven by a passion to capture emotions, movement, and feelings. People and their creative expressions—art, music, and theatre—serve as her primary inspiration, as she explores how observing others can lead to self-discovery. Now based in Lithuania, Marija continues to expand her photographic practice and perspective.
Her mentor, Gabrielius Jauniškis, is a professional photographer specializing in stage photography. Actively engaged in the industry, Gabrielius also shares his expertise through teaching, helping emerging photographers develop their skills and techniques. His experience and insights in capturing the dynamic energy of live performances make him a valuable guide in Marija’s artistic journey.
