Rakija Klezmer Orkestar joins Cultural Rhythms music stage

Rakija Klezmer Orkestar (Lithuania) is a music band that specializes in the genre and music tradition of Klezmer. In a 10 years old long existence this collective of young professional musicians had performances all over Lithuania, from synagogues to mainstream music festivals. With an idea of meeting foreign musicians and introducing their music to bigger crowds the band started travelling to other countries, spreading their spectrum every year.

RKO’s (Rakija Klezmer Orkestar) performances are really alive and energetic. The individual virtuosity of every member creates a space for subtle musical interpretation of different styles and genres, and the bands’ interest in authentic recordings and memories of late 19th and early 20th centuries’ klezmer music, brings the performance even closer to the audience and gives music that beautiful colour that makes klezmer so wonderful.

Rakija Klezmer Orkestar consists of six members that are recognized in different mainstream, underground and academic scenes. In 2023 summer Rakija will perform together with Ukrainian folk band Hudaki Village Band in Lithuania.
