“Artscape” will contribute to the implementation of Lithuania’s national plan for responding to the situation of Ukrainian refugees

Lithuania’s National Response Plan for Ukrainian Refugees is launched, which will enable NGOs and representatives of international organisations operating in Lithuania to raise more funds to contribute to Lithuanian society’s efforts to host and integrate Ukrainian refugees. Representatives of “Artscape” also participated in presenting the plan at the collaborative table.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) began coordinating regional actions in 2022 to address the needs of refugees from Ukraine in Europe. In 2023, Lithuania joined this common platform, and “Artscape” is one of the partners – one of the 10 organizations in Lithuania – contributing to the implementation of the plan.

“We will carry out this mission by mobilizing the cultural and artistic community for new synergies with Ukrainians. We will implement art initiatives aimed at empowering Ukrainian artists, community involvement, and other activities. It is crucial that the theme of refugee reception is not only a humanitarian response but also involves secondary integration and psychosocial well-being,” says Aistė Ulubey, the founder and director of the arts agency.
