Open Call for Creative Missions Professional Artists and Educators 2023!
Arts Agency Artscape is inviting applications for Professional artists and educators – from various arts and near-arts practitioners, performers and specialists, to join Creative Missions 2023 initiative. Together we will be working in order to create arts’ activities for foreigners living in Lithuania.
Important to note, that this time we are giving an enormous advantage for people who can speak Ukrainian, Russian or any other foreign language which is not English. It’s due to effective implementation of arts activities targeted to wider groups who cannot speak English.
By creating artistic productions and education programs, Artscape aims at improving access to culture and interaction between communities. Working in collaboration with artists, local communities and sensitive society groups we nurture self-expression, active participation in society matters and seek social solutions. This our way to make a meaningful social impact.
We started the Creative Missions project with the aim of creating safe spaces for children, women and men, in migrant settlements. By regularly visiting the centers with artistic and educational activities, we want to express solidarity, support, emotional reinforcement and to involve them in creativity.
596 arts educations were done by 14 Artscape educators who led Creative Missions in 2022. A total of 981 migrants and refugees participated. Educators provide choreography, theatre directing, art therapy, performing arts, design creation and other activities for children, adolescents, unaccompanied minors, young people and women. During the Creative Missions, educators are provided with Artscape assistance in their project implementation with all necessary means.
Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) decided to award Artscape, selected from 64 nominees, for its’ Creative Missions with Social Cohesion Award. The CEB Awards for Social Cohesion is an annual competition that recognizes a project that tackles a pressing social issue in one of the 42 CEB member countries. The award is linked to the CEB’s stated position that appropriate investment in the social sector can have a significant positive economic and social impact on society as a whole
