Audiovisual installation “When Stories Meet” continues its tour in Lithuania and comes to Kaunas

The audiovisual installation of the project “When Stories Meet”, coming to Kaunas, already to the third city of Lithuania, in April, will invite people to see and share stories. The installation, created by Jonas Tertelis and Dominas Pulokas in collaboration with “Artscape” Art Agency, will visit Klaipėda and Šiauliai starting from this weekend – 2 April – and will allow visitors to experience the diversity of cultures and its uniqueness; to listen to different people’s stories, to interactively engage in the creation of their own stories, to share and discuss their ideas. The installation space in the Constituent Seimas Square will be open until 17 April.

The chamber installation space will not only invite you to see a video installation aimed at introducing viewers to the stories of people from other cultures living in Lithuania. On Saturday (2 April), at 7 pm, visitors are invited to meet the organizers and partners of “When Stories Meet”, listen to a presentation of the project and the installation, discuss and talk in a safe, engaging and warm environment – visitors will be served with tea.

“Uphill 7” is an alternative and pop rock band, which will surprise the guests of the installation with a “glocal” – both global and local – world music, with members from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Lithuania. Uphill 7 has recently released its introductory track “Freedom” “Uphill 7” features lyrics in English, Lithuanian and Farsi, which invite us to look at freedom from different perspectives – freedom of a nation, freedom to choose how to live one’s own life, freedom from preconceptions and stereotypes, and freedom from the feeling of being held in fear.

Therefore, the “glocal” music group coming from Pabradė to Kaunas accompanies the installation around Lithuania for a reason. Inside the band, there are constant intersections of stories: here, music, driven by different cultures and life stories, different values, but a common goal and a shared love of creation, not only creates social change, but also shares its own stories with its listeners.
